A 30-year-old American is said to have attacked two compatriots and thrown them into a ravine at Neuschwanstein Castle. A media report now gives new details about the alleged perpetrator.

According to a friend, the 30-year-old, who is said to have thrown two women into a ravine at Neuschwanstein Castle, lived in a world of manga comics and role-playing games. This is reported by “Bild”, citing Chanidtha K. from Thailand. The 26-year-old also gives a reason for the suspect’s trip to Germany: He wanted to visit an online friend who had recently turned away from him.

The Thai woman claims to have played an online game with him over months and continents. “He was lonely and worked a lot. His cats meant everything to him. He was always friendly to me, but my girlfriend always found him stranger,” said K., according to “Bild”. On May 15, she blocked him after he threatened her.

The suspect’s girlfriend broke off contact

The girlfriend had recently immigrated to Germany from Egypt. “She just turned 18, Troy wrote her long messages about how important she was to him. But she didn’t want to know anything more about him,” says K., according to the newspaper. It is possible that Troy B. wanted to convince her during a visit to get in touch with him again.

Shortly before the crime, the suspect sent the woman in Thailand pictures of Neuschwanstein Castle and the surrounding area. “I climbed it” is written under a selfie by the suspect, which “Bild” shows online. “100 meters high, only tree roots and branches for support.” A little later he sent a photo of two tourists on a cliff edge and wrote: “And now I’m sitting here and looking at these two trying to get the perfect Insta picture.”

About three quarters of an hour later he attacked the two US tourists. One only survived the 50-meter fall because a branch slowed her fall, the newspaper writes. The other woman died in the attack.

The Egyptian girlfriend of the alleged perpetrator was interrogated by the Kripo Kempten. The suspect himself is in custody in the Kempten JVA. The suspect spoke to the investigating judge about the matter, said a police spokesman. The spokesman did not provide any information about the content of the statement.
