Neuried: lecture on sponge towns – district of Munich

As part of the “Climate Adaptation Now” series of events, the Greens in Neuried are offering an information evening on Friday, March 3 on the subject of “Sponge City – the city of the future”. The speaker is Christian Hierneis, chairman of the Munich Nature Conservation Union and spokesman on environmental policy for the Greens parliamentary group. That evening, practicable solutions will be discussed that cities can use to mitigate the effects of climate change. In sponge cities, rainwater is stored in the ground so that it cannot run off as quickly, but is instead fed into the groundwater. Flash floods caused by heavy rain events should also be counteracted in this way. The Neurieder Grünen are investigating the question of how the conversion to a water-sensitive and climate-adapted city or municipality can succeed. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Wirtshaus Lorber (winter garden), Gautinger Straße 12.
