Neuried – JU calls for the resignation of the youth officer – district of Munich

The Neurieder Junge Union (JU) has had it: the CSU offspring is demanding the resignation of the two youth representatives on the municipal council, Leon Zipfel (Greens) and Luis Sanktjohanser (FDP). The reason given by the JU is “persistent disinterest” in an exchange about the situation of young people in the community. Alexander Löher, chairman of the JU, complained in a written statement that despite repeated inquiries, no talks were held with the two youth representatives. Both offices should be filled, according to the JU.

Alexander Löher has been JU chairman since February 2022 and is annoyed that the youth organization of the CSU is “ignored”, as he says when asked. The demand for resignation is now an expression of the fact that he has simply “burst his collar”. At the beginning of the summer he emailed Leon Zipfel as the youth officer to make an appointment for a joint discussion; however, this has not yet come about. First, an appointment was postponed due to time constraints, then further inquiries were unsuccessful and Zipfel never contacted him again. Löhrer also complains that Leon Zipfel mixes his political office as a municipal councilor for the Greens and community work as a youth officer: He can only be reached via the Greens’ e-mail address, no other contact details can be found on the Internet.

And Löhrer has another accusation ready: He criticizes the “lack of commitment” for young people in Neuried. Among other things, the JU would like a night bus that transports young people to their home community late in the evening, and an alternative meeting place for young people outside the youth center – topics that he would like to bring up with the youth representatives.

Both have been in office for two years and, in their own words, are quite active in the community

Luis Sanktjohanser, deputy youth officer, rejects the allegations when asked by SZ and is also speaking on behalf of Leon Zipfel, as he says. Due to the holiday season, no appointment has been made yet. Leon Zipfel also notes that in a village like Neuried there are other contact options than email; he himself had also recently had problems accessing his e-mail account. As youth officers, they are quite active in the community, emphasizes Sanktjohanser, who, in his own words, has not received any email from the JU.

The two youth officers have been in office since July 2020. The young people approach them of their own accord and they maintain contact with the youth center, they both say. There was a barbecue there to get to know the Neurieder youth. Ideas were also introduced during the budget consultations to make Neuried an attractive community for young people. This included improvements to the skater park and the idea of setting up a kind of self-managed container – also a wish of the JU. Young people should be able to meet here regardless of the opening hours of the youth center. A concept for a youth advisory board is currently being developed.

For his part, Sanktjohanser criticizes the “style” of the JU of “outrage” in writing and “to put it kindly: spreading half-truths”. We are still open for an appointment.
