An 80-year-old was very lucky on Thursday night in Neufahrn. Around 10 p.m., the relatives reported to the local police station. The woman with dementia, who regularly goes for a short walk after dinner, did not return after about 30 minutes as usual. The family then searched in vain for the elderly woman. The police officers were initially unsuccessful and called in a helicopter. The crew discovered the woman shortly after midnight in a hard-to-see place on the S-Bahn tracks near Neufahrn – the 80-year-old was sitting directly on the tracks. After this report, the police patrols went there as quickly as possible, at the same time recommending that the tracks be closed. But at the same moment, according to the police report, the helicopter reported an approaching train. The section in question has two tracks – the train passed the 80-year-old on the neighboring track. Startled by this, she fled into the bushes. That’s where the police officers found them. After a brief examination by the emergency services, she was able to drive home with her family.
