A little boy is killed in a village near Neubrandenburg. The investigators now have to clarify what exactly happened. According to their own statements, they found many traces.
Horrible crime in the east of Mecklenburg: In Pragsdorf A six-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Neubrandenburg. A police spokeswoman said a perpetrator has not yet been caught.
The investigations and interviews in the area were in full swing. The police are investigating manslaughter and are pursuing several investigative approaches.
There is currently no trace of the murder weapon. “There are numerous emergency services on site who are using dogs to search for the crime,” the spokeswoman continued. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a knife.
There is suspicion of manslaughter, but details cannot yet be given, a spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office told the German Press Agency. The boy was found lying in the bushes near a football field by firefighters on Thursday evening with “massive injuries to his upper body,” the police said. Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful. The radio station “Ostseewelle Hit-Radio Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania” had previously reported.
The spokesman said the injuries could be stab wounds. The autopsy of the body, which began this morning, will provide more details. A result on the cause of death is not expected until Friday afternoon at the earliest.
He didn’t come home from playing
The parents reported the six-year-old missing on Thursday because he did not come home from playing in the afternoon as agreed. The police, fire department and residents then searched for the child. Search dogs and a police helicopter were also used.
The mayor of the town of 580, Ralf Opitz, was among the searchers. “I also took part in the search – until my comrades made the terrible discovery,” said the 54-year-old.
The spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office said it was still unclear whether the place where the car was found was also the crime scene. The location of the discovery is in the village not far from a lake, where there is also a football field, said the spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office. Intensive surveys have already been carried out in the town, which is located on federal highway 104 east of Neubrandenburg. “The level of sympathy and the willingness to make statements is very high – this must now be written down,” said a police spokeswoman.
“A lot happened yesterday, and today things are continuing at full speed.” Information about the motive or the course of the crime remains initially unclear. The spokeswoman was not aware of any disputes in advance. A spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office said that it was not yet clear whether a suspect could be found in a short time.
Boy had just started school
The community of Pragsdorf expressed its sadness after the child’s death on the Internet platform Facebook on Friday morning. “It was with sadness and dismay that we learned this morning of the terrible violent crime and the death of J.. Of course, our thoughts at the moment are primarily with the family and relatives,” it said on the community’s Facebook page. At the same time, it was also requested that any useful information be passed on to the police immediately.
According to the mayor, the boy had just started school and was in first grade. According to him, an above-average number of children live in the small town. The Facebook page also mentioned a fundraiser for the family of the dead child.
