A head-on collision with massive property damage occurred early Friday morning on State Road 2368 in Neubiberg. When turning at the junction of the A 8 in the direction of Munich, a driver overlooked an oncoming van, whereupon both collided. At this time, just after 5:30 a.m., the traffic lights were still out of order. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals. The vehicles had to be towed. The property damage is around 25,000 euros. The Unterbiberg volunteer fire brigade ensured fire protection, cleaned the roadway of leaked fuel and lubricants and secured the scene of the accident. While the accident was being recorded, the freeway entrance had to remain closed for about an hour, resulting in traffic disruptions.
