Interviewed by

Daniela Bode, Neubiberg

Many important people have already sat at the round glass table in Merith Niehuss’ office, including numerous defense ministers and most recently women ministers. On this day, however, the president of the Bundeswehr University in Munich is sitting there with a very important woman: her deputy – and successor. Vice-President Eva-Maria Kern will take over the management of the university in Neubiberg on January 1st. What a happy coincidence that “The President” is written on the university’s letterhead and greeting cards – even after 17 years, no new ones have to be printed. In the interview, the two professors talk about the effects of the global political situation on university operations, excellent research and the pursuit of more visibility.
