Neubiberg:Cash injection for the construction of a biotope

The Emile Montessori School in Neubiberg is known for its environmental commitment. Now the school family wants to set up a biotope in the entrance area, which they call Emilotop. For this, the institution received a check for 1000 euros at the ninth Foundation Prize of the Town & Country Foundation. Various measures are planned to protect biodiversity and the environment, such as nesting boxes for birds and insects and a bee pasture, as well as a vertical biotope with an irrigation system. In addition, a Fairomat, i.e. a machine with fair trade products, is to be set up. Possibly a “green classroom” should also be created, where various projects and lessons can take place outdoors. “Our Emilotop is intended to give schoolchildren and colleagues the opportunity to specifically understand important relationships in the animal and plant world and to enable practical work outdoors,” says school association director Clemens Coenen.

The non-profit Town & Country Foundation is committed to disadvantaged children, as well as to building owners who are in need through no fault of their own, and meanwhile also supports preschool and school facilities.
