If you want to watch “How I Met Your Mother” or a few other well-known series on Netflix again, you have to hurry. The streaming provider will make some changes to its offerings by the turn of the year.

The range of series and films on Netflix seems to be inexhaustible – but formats keep disappearing from the streaming giant’s program. At the turn of the year it’s that time again: the licenses for various series and films will expire by New Year’s Eve. These are then no longer available on Netflix. So fans should check back quickly before it is no longer possible.

The list of titles affected by the end of the year is long. These include high-profile series such as “Family Guy”, “New Girl”, “How I Met Your Mother”, “Prison Break”, “Sons of Anarchy”, “Vampire Diaries” and “The Prince of Bel-Air”. Some of these series have built up a large fan base over many years – and many viewers still enjoy watching episodes even though the finale was a long time ago.

Netflix deletes series like “Prison Break” or “How I Met Your Mother”

In the case of the films, the cross-off list doesn’t look that prominent. Only the second part of the Tarantino classic “Kill Bill” should sound familiar to many. However, films such as “Grand Budapest Hotel”, “On the green edge of the world” or “Ratchet & Clank” were already removed from the program last week. The comedy “Crazy About Steve” also recently had to believe in it.

Netflix regularly informs itself on its channels about which titles will disappear in the near future. It will be noted on the page of the respective title if the film or series is canceled within the next month. If you still want to watch one of the removed series or a film after it has been deleted from Netflix, you usually have the chance to do so with other streaming services – for example Amazon Prime, Disney Plus or Magenta. Or try something new.
