The fantasy series “The Witcher” has been running since the end of 2019. The fourth season of the hit Netflix series is now in production, but it will end after the fifth season, the streaming service announced.

Netflix has started production on the fourth season of the Polish-American fantasy series “The Witcher”. The streaming service announced this.

At the same time it was announced that the fifth season would be filmed straight away – as the final chapter of the saga. The template is the three novels “Baptism of Fire”, “The Swallow Tower” and “The Lady of the Lake” from the “Witcher” series by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

Series creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said they were looking forward to bringing the saga to an “epic and compelling” conclusion with an “outstanding” cast.

The focus of “The Witcher” is the sorcerer Geralt of Rivia, who has to go on numerous adventures as a monster hunter. In the first three seasons, the Brit Henry Cavill (40) was on board as the main actor, and from now on the Australian Liam Hemsworth (34) will take on this role. Also there are Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla and the sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). The fantasy series started on Netflix at the end of December 2019. The third season came out last summer.
