It was a tough struggle, it’s written all over his face. Benjamin Netanyahu looks tired, even worn out, when he steps in front of the cameras on Monday evening at just after eight o’clock in Jerusalem’s prime news time to announce a dramatic decision: The fiercely contested “judicial reform” will be postponed. There should be a break for negotiations with the opposition. “I stretch out my hand for dialogue,” says Netanyahu. The motive: “There must be no civil war.”
