Chronicle of a world-famous entertainment mile

The documentary series “Neonstaub” tells a lively chronicle of Hamburg’s harbor district of St. Pauli and its world-famous entertainment mile in five episodes. Using exclusive contemporary witnesses and never-before-seen material, it offers an intimate perspective on a multi-faceted picture of contemporary German history from the late 1950s to the early 1990s.

At the beginning you experience the wild departure into the 1960s together with the protagonists, when rock’n’roll fever breaks out on the Große Freiheit and music history is written. The St. Joseph Church, located between nightclubs and strip bars, also plays a surprising role.
