neighbors of the suspect indicted for the murder of Iris C. testify

BFMTV collected testimonies from neighbors of the man indicted in the investigation into the murder of Iris C., found dead at the end of May near Lorient.

New testimonials. BFMTV was able to interview neighbors of the suspect indicted in the murder of Iris C., the 23-year-old young woman found dead at the end of May in a river in Lanester (Morbihan).

Eva and Gérard* say that from the start, relations with the suspect, already convicted of rape in 2015, did not go well. Thefts of tools, honking on the way out, frequent noises… They describe a very discreet neighbor, who never went out to the restaurant or the bar and stayed at home with his partner.

Rose*, another resident of the street, explains that she was quickly informed of the background of this man when they arrived in the neighborhood. “It worries, when you’re a woman, when you have a child, you tell yourself that it’s right next to us.”

“He was cleaning the inside of the truck with a bucket and gloves”

The Tuesday following the attack, Eva and Gérard explain that the suspect went to wash his truck at the car wash in the morning. “Usually he does everything in front of his house, and thinking about it, I think ‘It’s weird that he brings his truck to the Karcher’. After 12:15 p.m., when I got back with my daughter, he was to clean the inside of the truck with a bucket and gloves.”

According to them, between the supposed date of the murder and his arrest, the suspect continued a totally normal life. Rose abounds, feeling like only the neighbors are shocked by the events.

The suspect, placed in police custody Thursday, June 8 in Rennes, was indicted the next day for kidnapping, forcible confinement and intentional homicide preceded or accompanied by rape.

“Wishing a delay for his defense, he was temporarily imprisoned by the judge of freedoms and detention, in accordance with the requisitions of the Lorient prosecutor’s office, pending a debate to be held next week”, explained the prosecutor of the Republic of Lorient.
