Nearly 80 inmates positive for Covid-19 at Luynes prison, near Aix



The Luynes prison center (Bouches-du-Rhône), near Aix-en-Provence is currently seeing a cluster of coronaviruses developing within its walls, reports Provence. 79 detainees and 4 administration officials have thus tested positive for Covid-19, according to the Force Ouvrière union. The latter had all contracted the virus outside the establishment inaugurated in April in 2018 and with a capacity of 735 places. In addition, 15 detainees were traced as contact cases, as well as seven officers.

This is the first time since the start of the epidemic that this prison has been so badly affected, specifies the regional daily.
