Nearly 60 ice creams are recalled because of traces of ethylene oxide, a carcinogenic substance

A recall issued by the government site on Monday concerns about sixty ice creams and ice creams of various brands, reports Capital. These contain traces of ethylene oxide in proportions above the authorized threshold.

This substance, used to disinfect products, is carcinogenic. However, it has been banned since 2011, specifies the media. The list of batches affected by this warning has been communicated on the site recall.conso.gouv.fr.

Many products come from Carrefour

Among the products concerned, there are lime and vanilla sorbets from the Metro Chef brand, Glaces des Alpes sorbets, giant white chocolate sticks and milk chocolate and almond sticks produced by Simpl. At Carrefour, Almond-Black-White chocolate and vanilla mini sticks are also targeted as well as a 1L container of coconut ice cream, mini double Almond sensation sticks, Cookie dough jars and a 1L container. of vanilla macadamia ice cream with caramel flavor sauce. Two 1L tubs of organic chocolate ice cream and Madagascar vanilla ice cream.

Last Friday, the hard discount brand Netto also recalled chocolate-hazelnut cones marketed in its brand. All customers who have purchased these products are therefore advised to return them to the store so that a refund can be made.
