Nearly 350 km of traffic jams on the roads

Between those who return and those who go on vacation, the roads are overloaded. A peak of traffic jams of 349 km was thus recorded at midday at the national level this Saturday, a day classified as orange in the direction of returns to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Paris region, according to Smart one.

In Île-de-France, traffic on the A6 should be particularly dense in the direction of returns between the beginning of the afternoon and the middle of the evening, according to Bison smart. In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, it is the axes that connect the ski resorts that are the most congested, in particular the A43, between Lyon and Chambéry, with more than 100 km of accumulated traffic jams.

The A43 particularly concerned

At 1 p.m., Vinci found 32 km of traffic jams on the A43 in the direction of returns, and 18 km in the direction of departures. In addition to the A43, where it is not recommended to drive between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., more than 33 km of traffic jams were recorded at midday on the A40, in Ain, and more than 16 km on the A6 in the Yonne.

This weekend’s trips concern holidaymakers in zones B (Marseille, Lille, Strasbourg, etc.) and C (Paris, Toulouse), which is starting its second week of school holidays.
