One of Gerhard Schröder’s trademarks is a slight, sarcastic grin, which has occasionally been described as a wolf’s smile and is somewhat reminiscent of Hildegard Knef and her song about the aging predator: “The old wolf is slowly turning gray; but he is tough and he is clever. He still bites away young wolves, they still have respect for him…”
