Germany came last again in the Eurovision Song Contest. The NDR describes the defeat as “disappointing and sobering” – and wants to investigate the causes.

The Norddeutsche Rundfunk (NDR) wants to investigate the causes of the renewed bankruptcy at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). “We started with an extraordinary act that didn’t achieve the result we wanted at all. That’s very, very disappointing and sobering,” said the head of the ARD team for the contest at NDR, Andreas Gerling, loudly message from Sunday. “In the selection process, we focused on expanding the musical genres. We must and will now face the discussion and consideration as to why this title did not catch on at the ESC either.” The broadcaster would like to thank Lord Of The Lost “who enthusiastically embarked on this unusual ESC adventure with us”.

Germany ended up last again. First place for Swede Loreen was “an absolutely deserved victory,” Gerling continued. “And the show was sensational, no exaggeration. Thank you to the BBC for putting it on and to the City of Liverpool. You were all such a delight as hosts.”
