US President Joe Biden received NBA champion Golden State Warriors at the White House. During the visit, the US President praised not only the sporting performance but also the team’s socio-political commitment.

“It speaks out loudly against racism, advocates for equality, encourages people to vote, supports children and their families (…) and mobilizes against gun violence,” said Biden.

The team from San Francisco, California, led by superstar Stephen Curry, won the final series in the North American professional basketball league against the Boston Celtics last June. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who said she’s been a Warriors fan “all her life,” were presented with jerseys by the team.
