Basketball superstar Kevin Durant will continue to wear the jersey of the Brooklyn Nets in the North American professional league NBA. As the New York City club announced, management had agreed with the 33-year-old to continue working together.

The big goal is still to bring the championship title to Brooklyn – led by Durant. Only last year he had signed a new four-year contract.

However, there had recently been reports that the three-time Olympic champion, who is one of the league’s top scorers, would rather retire from the NBA than play for the Nets again. Durant rejected it in this form. However, he wanted to leave the club and, according to The Athletic, had even demanded that coach Steve Nash and manager Sean Marks be fired so that he could stay. Nash now attended a joint club leadership meeting with Durant in Los Angeles, California.

US international Durant has been active for the Nets since 2019, but is still waiting for a big success on the east coast of the country. In 2017 and 2018 he had won the championship twice with the Golden State Warriors and was voted the most valuable player in the final series as an outstanding player.
