Since 1959, district administrators, the Bundeswehr and citizens have been commemorating the victims of World War II at the military cemetery in Hofkirchen, Lower Bavaria. Research by the SZ shows that hundreds of SS men, some of them high-ranking, are also buried there. How can that be?
