Will Nazan Eckes stay with RTL or will she leave? A little bit of both, as she herself explained in a post.
The future of presenter Nazan Eckes (45) at RTL, where she has been employed for around 23 years, has caused a stir in the past few days. First it was said via “Bild” that Eckes had resigned, shortly afterwards the station denied this message to the news agency spot on news. Now the 45-year-old has via Instagram himself reported on the facts and the exact backgrounds that led to these seemingly contradictory statements.
So it’s true that “I want to break new ground. And yes, that also applies to my many years of very intensive cooperation with RTL”. Through the long cooperation, the station has developed into a kind of “family” for them. Because she now wants to leave her “comfort zone”, she has decided to give up “my show Extra” and end “the exclusive cooperation with RTL at the end of the year”.
She wants to “live in free fall for a bit”
But that doesn’t mean that she’s completely turning her back on the private broadcaster, as she goes on to explain. So “there are ideas to continue to implement joint projects and great formats on a different basis. And I’m really looking forward to it!”, Eckes writes. “At the same time, I leave room for the new, the unexpected, the unplanned… living in free fall a bit.”
This coincides with the statement that an RTL spokeswoman sent spot on news. It said: “There are very specific plans for a big theme night with her [Eckes, Anm. d. Red.] and for an interview series we are currently working on with Nazan.”
