Natural gas: Winter in Germany will be good – opinion

Anyone who compares the ongoing discussion of autumn 2023 with that of a year ago might come to the conclusion that Germany is perhaps not as cumbersome, bureaucratic and backwater as it is at the regular tables in corner bars, country inns and social media platforms. It is often claimed in evil places: The Federal Network Agency has calculated that it is quite certain that citizens and companies will get by in the winter with the amounts of natural gas that were stored over the summer and that are still being supplied by friendly neighboring states. Unlike twelve months ago, as far as we can tell, no one has to be afraid of sitting shivering in their apartment or home in January or February because the warlord Vladimir Putin is misusing gas deliveries as a political weapon.
