Investigators find 93 weapons in “Reichsbürger” – plans for “cleansing” of local politicians
During the nationwide raid against a “Reichsbürger” group, a three-digit number of non-disclosure agreements were found. In some cases, the “death penalty” should have been threatened for violations.
Dhe number of weapons found during the nationwide raid against a “Reich Citizens” group last week is significantly higher than previously known. A total of 93 weapons were confiscated from the suspects, as reported by several participants in a non-public special session of the Bundestag’s Interior Committee WELT on Monday evening. These include 19 handguns (short guns) and 25 long guns. Knives, crossbows, decorative weapons and blank pistols were also found. In addition, around 200 legal weapons come from an arms dealer who is also one of the suspects.
The network of the group, which the Federal Prosecutor General accuses of forming a terrorist organization, is apparently also significantly larger than the group of 25 arrested and 27 other suspects. Investigators found a three-digit number of confidentiality agreements. In some cases, it was stated that breaching the obligation to maintain confidentiality could result in the “death penalty”. In addition, a two-digit kilogram amount of precious metals and satellite telephones for secure communication are said to have been found. A locker with gold worth several million euros is still to be sought.
In Baden-Württemberg, Thuringia and Saxony, the formation of “homeland security companies” has already begun, with a total of 286 of these companies being set up. According to several participants, a relevant number of barracks have already been scouted for possible locations of the companies.
According to the participants, during the briefing of the Interior Committee by the Federal Prosecutor General, the Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, it was also specified that the group’s plans went so far that there should be “cleansing” in the municipal area; this should happen to mayors. The participants also reported that there had recently been dissent within the group about how to proceed. Accordingly, the so-called “Council” and the military arm did not agree on the strategy. There were also internal conflicts about the positions of the “ministers”.
