European Championship endurance test against World Cup runners-up France: National coach Julian Nagelsmann only has to do without his number one in Lyon.

After his radical squad restructuring, Julian Nagelsmann is starting the European Championship year with the desired formation he practiced in training.

At the big international test in Lyon against World Cup runners-up France, the national coach only has to do without Manuel Neuer, who he declared number one for the home tournament in the summer, in goal. Marc-André ter Stegen from FC Barcelona replaces the Munich player, who tore a muscle fiber in his thigh during training.

Otherwise, the DFB team around returnee Toni Kroos is performing as expected and as announced by Nagelsmann. The defensive line consists of Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rüdiger and Stuttgart international newcomer Maximilian Mittelstädt. In addition to Kroos, who is making a comeback to the national team for the home European Championship, Robert Andrich plays in defensive midfield. On the offensive, Nagelsmann has captain Ilkay Gündogan, the young stars Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz as well as Kai Havertz as the striker.

The French starting eleven is led by captain and star striker Kylian Mbappé. Bayern professional Dayot Upamecano will be called up in defense by national coach Didier Deschamps. Four other former Bundesliga professionals will start against the DFB team.
