When national coach Julian Nagelsmann nominates the squad for the upcoming international matches today, Thomas Müller will be ready. The 34-year-old talks about what he can give the team.

veteran Thomas Müller is convinced that he can continue to give the German national football team important impetus.

“I’ve already said several times that I’m available. If the national coach, now Julian Nagelsmann as the new national coach, is interested or believes that I can help, then I’ll be there. Let’s see what happens with the nomination.” said the 34-year-old at the presentation of his new book “Cooking for Small & Large Champions”. This will be released on Saturday.

When asked what the “ingredient” Müller could give the DFB team, the FC Bayern Munich leader laughed. “Definitely spice and of course the ability to score. Hopefully I will never lose that. Otherwise, the coaches will have to decide how they want to use me there,” said the 123-time national player of the German Press Agency.

Nagelsmann nominates his squad

The new national coach Julian Nagelsmann today nominates his squad for the trip to America in the middle of the Bundesliga season with the international friendly matches on October 14th in Hartford against the USA and three days later in Philadelphia against Mexico. The decision in favor of Müller seems easy this time on the way to the home European Championship in a year, because Müller showed how valuable he is in the DFB jersey against France (2:1) and in the Bayern jersey against FC Copenhagen (2:1). as a mature professional.

“I’ve always played football to help my team score goals. Of course, as an offensive player you also defend,” said Müller while cutting an onion. “But as an offensive player you are responsible for the onions so that there are tears in the opponents’ eyes at the end of the game.”

No serious personnel changes are expected when nominating the squad. Leon Goretzka, who was recently ignored, is expected to return. Like Müller, one of several Bayern professionals that Nagelsmann knows well from his time in Munich. Timo Werner from RB Leipzig could return to the DFB circle as a former favorite player of the DFB head coach from his club days.
