Julian Nagelsmann has impressed his players in a short space of time. Demeanor, authority, ambition and a different kind of football are well received and highlighted after the 3-1 win against the USA.

Julian Nagelsmann received very positive feedback from the team after his debut win as national soccer coach against the USA. The 36-year-old impressed his players with his demeanor and ideas during their first week together in the USA, as goal scorer Niclas Füllkrug reported.

“We notice that there is someone standing in front of us who has an authoritarian, good demeanor. You also notice it in the meetings. It is a natural authority, not an artificial one. He can back everything up with explanations and solutions. That immediately makes an impression “If you as a player notice that it works,” said the 30-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker after the 3-1 win against the USA in Hartford. A handwriting in the game was recognizable.

Captain Ilkay Gündogan was also impressed by the starting phase with Nagelsmann. “It was a style of football that was a little different,” said the 32-year-old about the style of play and tactical arrangement on the pitch. The training bears fruit quickly. “We did a lot of good things in such a short time,” said the goalscorer to make it 1-1.

“The things we tackle are important. The coach’s ideas are powerful and take us to the next level,” said Füllkrug. “He is a coach who has a lot of ideas and is very ambitious.”
