It is still unclear whether Captain Dennis Schröder can play on Thursday (6.30 p.m. / Magentasport) after his ankle injury at the Supercup in Hamburg. Daniel Theis, who is struggling with knee problems, will certainly fail. The other NBA professionals Isaac Bonga, Isaiah Hartenstein, Maximilian Kleber and Moritz Wagner are sure to be out for the entire EM summer. Of the seven German NBA players, Franz Wagner is the only one currently available without restrictions.

Stockholm is another step towards World Cup 2023. Germany have taken five victories from the preliminary round and are on course to take part in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines next year. On August 28 (3 p.m.) there will be another World Cup qualifier in Munich against European champions Slovenia with NBA star Luka Doncic. The European Championship begins on September 1st, with Germany playing directly against co-favorite France in Cologne.
