Nasty at heart: The series “The Curse” with Emma Stone at Paramount + – Media

Whitney (Emma Stone) and Asher (Nathan Fielder) seem incredibly likeable at first glance: young, good-looking people with a social conscience who want to save the world, starting with the renovation of their run-down community. They produce, along with Asher’s old friend Dougie (Benny Safdie), in the first episode of The Curse a pilot for a television series to further their project. Houses should be converted into ecologically valuable passive houses in a socially acceptable manner. And then a journalist who has done her homework asks about Whitney’s parents, well-known real estate speculators. And Asher screams. This isn’t a couple you’ll feel comfortable with for long. On the other hand: they are recognizable, and in the worst case you recognize them in yourself.
