STORY: In a shooting that killed at least seven people at a US private school, the police believe a woman is the suspected perpetrator. A police spokesman in Nashville, Tennessee, announced Monday the killing of three children and three adults at the Christian Covenant School. The shooter is said to be a 28-year-old woman from the city who entered the building with two semi-automatic rifles and a handgun. She was shot dead by the police. There are no other victims. Originally, the police had described the alleged perpetrator as a teenager. President Joe Biden offered his condolences to the family and again called for a ban on assault rifles. School shootings are almost a daily occurrence in the United States: last year, a database registered 303 incidents in which a gun was fired on school grounds. So far this year there have been 89 incidents.
