“Naked dress”, vintage outfit… Here are the 4 trends we remember

Actors, influencers, singers and other public figures have presented on the red carpet looks more original than each other that can be classified into four categories.

Haute couture classics

La Croisette has taken on a slight vintage tint. Starting with “The Idol” singer Lily-Rose Depp (23), who wore a strapless Chanel sequin mini dress from the Fall/Winter 1994 collection. French influencer Léna Mahfouf (more known as Léna Situations), opted for a kind of bodysuit with a long train revealing her legs. Look inspired by an old dress from the British brand Vivienne Westwood worn by Naomi Campbell in 1994. For her part, the actress Natalie Portman who presented “May December” alongside Julianne Moore went back even further in time with a vaporous strapless dress inspired by the legendary Junon dress, created by Christian Dior in 1949.

transparent dresses

The “Naked dress”, or transparent dress, is not a recent invention. It was the British model Kate Moss who was probably the first to wear it in 1993, in London. Since then, she has been constantly making her comeback. In Cannes, model supermodel Irina Shayk appeared, on several occasions, with different dresses revealing the skin. Actress and model Julia Fox caused a sensation during the presentation of the series “The Idol” with a dress revealing almost entirely her breasts. The same goes for the model Iris Law who also opted for a transparent lingerie dress.

The all-black look

Irreplaceable, the black dress, an eternal symbol of elegance and chic, has taken the Croisette by storm. Among the outfits that ignited the red carpet: the dress of popstar Dua Lipa, who launched a four-handed capsule with Donatella Versace.

For her part, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, on the poster of the last “Indiana Jones” (presented out of competition), opted for an impressive black dress with a ruffle signed Schiaparelli. Men have also acclaimed the total black look. Starting with the American rap superstar, Travis Scott, present on the red carpet for the presentation “The Idol”. Also in total black look, the actors of the short film by Spaniard Pedro Almodovar, “Strange Way of Life”, presented out of competition and in the absence of Pedro Pascal.

Hair surprises

Model Gigi Hadid caused a stir on the red carpet again. In question ? Her Barbie-style blonde that was favored by the women’s press.

The other capillary “shock” is by Helen Mirren. The 77-year-old British actress appeared on the red carpet with blue hair. The other trend that has made its way onto the red carpet is the “wet hair”, a wet effect hairstyle, used in particular by models Grace Elizabeth and Irina Shayk.

Among men, the mustache has made its timid comeback. Come to defend “Asteroid City”, the latest film by Wes Anderson, actor Bryan Cranston did not hesitate to play with his mustache during the traditional photo-call. Briton Jude Law, who came to present “Firebrand” by Karim Aïnouz, stood out on the red carpet with his elegant tuxedo and his perfectly trimmed mustache.
