Nagorno-Karabakh: Exodus from a homeland that is no longer a homeland – politics

Satellite images show the road winding in serpentines from Nagorno-Karabakh to the Armenian border. It is full of cars, buses and trucks, and in many places the traffic jam has several lanes. The photos from the satellite operator Maxar were taken on Tuesday, and the flow of refugees has hardly stopped since then. People are fleeing from the Azerbaijani soldiers who have taken Nagorno-Karabakh. By midday on Thursday, more than 68,000 of them had arrived in Armenia, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s office. This is significantly more than half of all residents of Nagorno-Karabakh.
