FC Bayern: Nagelsmann-PK in front of Augsburg in the live ticker – the coach reacts to Hamann’s criticism

Update, 1:58 p.m.: Last but not least, Nagelsmann is asked why his team will advance to the semi-finals of the Champions League, the answer comes succinctly and confidently as always: “Because we have a home game, because we have excellent support and because we have a lot of leeway compared to them first leg to make things better. Villarreal played a very, very good game and we played a very, very bad one. And because I assume that we will make a very, very good game”.

Update, 1:53 p.m.: Dietmar Hamann* recently said that FC Bayern had recently appeared “without a leader”. “Who said that? (…) I was just writing to him when he didn’t say anything,” says Nagelsmann, laughing. He asked Hamann “why he shoots like that”.

Then Nagelsmann gets going and responds to the criticism in a highly professional manner: “David Alaba was a player who led a lot, as I was told. And it is the case that you first have to grow into the situation when such a pillar breaks away, ”said the coach about the criticism of the Sky expert. “It’s also an issue that we want to coach more to increase one’s activity level,” he adds. “Leadless is maybe a bit hard, but we could lead more. That might be a little closer to the truth.”

Update, 1:48 p.m.: Again, it’s about the staff. The one before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting infected with the coronavirus will probably not return, said the coach. “Choupo is cleared but he has knee problems. We don’t know 100% how long he’ll be out. It may be from day to day that he’ll be available again but I don’t expect him to be absent tomorrow. It’s an injury that’s difficult to assess, a small bruise under the kneecap. It’s a bit vague.” Maybe the striker will play again on Tuesday, which Nagelsmann says could be “rather tight”. Bouna Sarr and Corentin Tolisso are the only two absentees.

Update, 1:43 p.m.: Nagelsmann will on the two Ajax professionals Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Grevenberch addressed, which according to media reports could soon play in Munich. “I’ll be happy if that’s the case. I don’t comment on rumours, otherwise it will be a very long PK. We’ll do that when the time comes. Both are good players, but let’s wait and see,” the Landsberger moderated the question.

Update, 1:41 p.m.: Nagelsmann described the second leg against Villarreal as “the most important game of the season”. The signs before the Salzburg game were “very similar”. That’s why you’ll “manage it well without worrying too much,” says Nagelsmann and again emphasizes the “dropouts”. For him, the “tolerance limit” for further defeats has already been exhausted.

We are happy, we have a full house and a game with a derby character.”

Update, 1:36 p.m .: The coach also gives the first insights into his starting eleven. “We will certainly change a few players, let Niki and Leon play from the start and give Phonzie a break,” says Nagelsmann. So Süle and Goretzka are sure to play, while Davies stays out for the time being.

Update, 1:34 p.m.: Augsburg, the opponent on Saturday, is “in the flow”, according to Nagelsmann’s observation. “They are now a few points behind their last two wins (to the relegation places, note). We don’t have big tolerance points to allow ourselves to slip up,” says the coach. “Tomorrow is a very important game that we take very seriously and absolutely want to win.”

Update, 1:32 p.m.: First, Nagelsmann is asked about the game against Villarreal. “We always have an exchange, we sat down with Brazzo and Marco (Neppe, ed.) on Thursday (…) and discussed in detail. Today we also watched a few scenes with the team, but those were more general points,” said the coach. “Of course we were all disappointed and imagined it differently,” says Nagelsmann.
