The jewelry had a value of around 9,000 euros. Friday evening, an Internet user named Adrien won Nabil Fekir’s 2018 world champion ring for 42,500 euros, during an auction organized by the streamer Amine, and broadcast on his Twitch channel. In total, 106,862 euros were collected during this evening, which also saw the gloves used by Cédric Doumbé during his MMA fight against Jordan Zebo go for 4,000 euros.

All the money will be used to help victims of the natural disasters which have affected Morocco and Libya in recent weeks. The earthquake which hit the Casablanca region at the beginning of September left around 3,000 dead and more than 5,000 injured, according to the latest report from the authorities released in mid-September. The earthquake also damaged some 60,000 homes in nearly 3,000 villages in the High Atlas and surrounding areas.

In Libya, unprecedented floods have caused the death of at least 4,000 people. The tragedy caused the displacement of more than 42,000 people, according to the latest figures from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which estimates that the urgent needs of the displaced relate to “food, drinking water, mental health and psychosocial support.”
