Probably not many people remember this, but the singer Anohni Hegarty once advertised espresso. That was in 2009, when she was still called Antony, after her birth name. Shortly before that, their band Antony and the Johnsons had had a real European chart success with the album “The Crying Light” – including number four in France, number two in Sweden, and at least 15 in Germany. Actually hardly imaginable for a record with solemn, black and white piano art songs about gender trangression, epilepsy and the connection between ecology and feminism.
