Ralph Siegel’s “Zeppelin” celebrates its premiere in Füssen

The premiere had to be postponed twice due to corona, then the time has come: the musical “Zeppelin” delights the guests in the Füssen Festival Hall – including Markus Söder and Katja Ebstein.
The musical “Zeppelin” by the composer Ralph Siegel celebrated its world premiere on Saturday in front of a packed audience in the Füssen Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein.
“I’m actually speechless, hoarse, handicapped with a broken back, but I’ve never been that happy in my life,” said “Mister Grand Prix” after the performance of the three and a half hour long play about Count Zeppelin and the last flight of the airship «Hindenburg».
Siegel had worked on the musical for five years, and the premiere had been postponed twice due to the corona pandemic. The play is to be shown a good 70 times in Füssen, but Siegel’s long-term goal is different: “My dream is to go to Broadway – even if I probably won’t see it again.” But now he is proud of his feet, emphasized Siegel.
For the premiere, a real zeppelin from Friedrichshafen circled over the private festival hall on Forggensee. The guests of honor included pop singers such as Katja Ebstein and Michael Holm, but also politicians such as Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder and the Federal Development Minister Gerd Müller (both CSU).
