Music video director Valentin Petit died in a plane crash

He had worked with the biggest names in music. This Saturday, clip director Valentin Petit, 32, died in the crash of a tourist plane in Switzerland, which killed three people.

Saturday morning, the plane took off from La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the canton of Neuchâtel, before crashing around 10:20 a.m. in “a forest area, in a difficult to access area”, said the police of Neuchâtel. On board the aircraft were the septuagenarian pilot, the director and another person, all three of whom were killed.

A birthday present

“It was a birthday present that a relative had offered to him”, indicated to the Berry Republican Didier Petit, Valentin’s father, who was to celebrate his 33rd birthday on Monday. “Devastated” since they learned the news this Sunday, the parents of the young man will now “have to recover the body, which must first be autopsied, to bring it home, said Didier Petit. I never thought I would one day have to face this ordeal. »

The police did not give any other information on the circumstances of the tragedy. An investigation has been opened by the Public Ministry of the Confederation, in order to determine the causes of the crash.

Described by his parents as a “passionate and creative son, who gave himself the means to live the life he wanted”, Valentin Petit had made a name for himself in the world of music video production. He had thus collaborated with a number of French and international artists: Nekfeu, Roméo Elvis, Raphaël, but also Pharrell Williams and Rosalía.

He had also produced commercials for brands such as Puma, Adidas, Peugeot and Balmain. And had realized a spot presenting the 2024 Paris Olympics.
