In addition to Harry Styles and Billie Eilish, The Weeknd is now part of the line-up at the Coachella festival in California. He takes the place of Kanye West.

After US rap star Kanye West (44) jumped off at short notice at this year’s Coachella festival, the organizers found a replacement. Canadian singer The Weeknd (32, “Blinding Lights”) will perform at the famous festival in Southern California.

The organizers announced on Twitter on Wednesday The Weeknd together with Swedish House Mafia as the new headliners. The group from Sweden around three DJs is known for hits like “One” or “Save the World”.

The festival is scheduled for the weekends of April 15-17. April and 22.-24. scheduled for April. Rapper West, who now calls himself Ye, was scheduled to perform on April 17th and 24th. He did not give the reasons for his cancellation this week.

The star line-up announced in January also includes British pop singer Harry Styles and US singer Billie Eilish. Other acts include Phoebe Bridgers, Megan Thee Stallion, Stromae and Doja Cat, among others.

Pop star Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd released his fifth album “Dawn FM” at the beginning of the year. He previously recorded the song “Moth To A Flame” with Swedish House Mafia.
