The musician shaped an era with her band Sonic Youth. Her second album will be released in March. Her daughter can be seen in the clip for the single.

Sonic Youth singer Kim Gordon has announced her second solo album. “The Collective” will be released on March 8th, as the 70-year-old wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (local time). The musician published the first on Tuesday Single “Bye Bye”. Her daughter Coco Gordon Moore (29) can be seen in the video. “It was made with love and fun. I hope you like it,” Gordon wrote on Instagram about the clip. She also announced several tour dates in the USA there.

Gordon founded the avant-garde noise rock band Sonic Youth in 1981. The album “Daydream Nation” (1988) is still considered to be a defining moment for an entire era – Gordon was even involved in the discovery of Nirvana. When Gordon separated from co-frontman Thurston Moore (65), Sonic Youth broke up in 2011. In 2019, Gordon released her solo debut “No Home Record”.
