Brazilian singer Anitta’s song “Envolver” quickly became a hit. Now the song has not only made it to the top of Spotify, but also made it into the Guinness Book of Records.

Brazilian singer Anitta (29) has become the first Latin American solo artist to be number one among the most played songs on the music service Spotify – and now in the Guinness Book of Records, according to a statement on Tuesday. Anitta, who comes from the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, commented on the achievement on Twitter: “Wowwwwww”.

Sung in Spanish, the song “Envolver” from her album “Versions of Me” was released in November 2021 and quickly became a hit on social media and streaming services. The unusual dance with hands or elbows on the floor also contributed to this. On March 24, “Envolver” reached the Spotify peak.

Anitta had risen to become Brazil’s new pop star in recent years and also made a name for herself, especially in South America and the USA. Her favela hit “Vai Malandra”, in which she was seen in panties and with cellulite in the video, also attracted attention in Germany.
