Music school Planegg-Krailling wins price of the music schools – District of Munich

The structure of the music school Planegg-Krailling may be controversial – the quality of the performances and the various ensembles is certainly not. It is the recorder ensemble of the Planegg music school together with the interpreters of the youth music school in Gräfelfing that won first prize in the music school competition in the Munich district at the weekend in the Kupferhaus Planegg, a prize that the Stiftung der Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg endowed with 3000 euros. For the Planeggers, after the grueling quarrels between the communities of Planegg and Krailling on the one hand and parts of the music school on the other, this is downright refreshment for the soul.

Among the eleven music schools in the district of Munich, the Würmtaler had played to the top with a piece from the baroque period – the demanding three-movement double concerto RV 533 by Antonio Vivaldi. The jurors, the world-renowned violinist Rudens Turku, the soprano and youth music award winner Francesca Paratore and the artistic director of the Orchestra Isartal, decided unanimously.

The foundation’s competition was held for the second time, around 150 children, young people and their teachers took part and met in the Planegger Kupferhaus, which is famous for its excellent acoustics. Musical variety from classic to rock was offered. The wind band of the music school and the primary school in Taufkirchen played rock classics with confidence, the Planegger and the Gräfelfinger followed with excerpts from Camille Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals” and the music school in Garching with the Berglwaldschule in Oberschleißheim presented a lively percussion performance, for which they won third place place and a thousand euros.

In addition to the Planeggers, the crossover music orchestra Neuried also came from the Würmtal with exotic and rousing sounds from the Balkans. The symphony orchestra of the music school in Grünwald and the music school in Unterhaching got 35 young people up and running. The intercommunal guitar orchestra from Neuried and the music school in Ismaning set the final chord. They got second place and 2000 euros. The audience award, which was determined by an “applausometer”, went to the music school Planegg-Krailling and the youth music school Gräfelfing.
