Music producer Frank Farian has died at the age of 82. His family announced this. Farian is best known as the producer of the duo Milli Vanilli and as the founder of Boney M.

The German pop music producer and former pop singer Frank Farian is dead. He died at home in Miami at the age of 82, the Allendorf Media agency said, citing his family. Farian comes from Kirn an der Nahe, where he was born Franz Reuther on July 18, 1941.

Farian founded the disco band Boney M., with which he sold more than 150 million records, including more than 60 million singles. He is known for hits such as “Rasputin”, “Rivers of Babylon”, “Daddy Cool” and “Ma Baker”, among others. He also became known as the producer of the duo Milli Vanilli.

With a total of more than 800 million records sold worldwide, Farian is considered the most internationally successful producer from Germany.
