Kesha: “I’m happy and excited like never before”
The singer talks about her new attitude to life – and announces new music.
“And I feel like I’ve earned the right to be so happy. I’m enjoying every minute of what feels like a brand new and very exciting chapter.”
Last year, the singer and songwriter had a long-term legal dispute with her former music producer Dr. Luke settled out of court and ended her contract with his Sony-owned label Kemosabe Records. In 2014, Kesha accused her producer of manipulating and sexually abusing her for years. He rejected the allegations and in turn sued the musician. The singer wrote in a statement last June that she wanted to “close the door on this chapter of my life and start a new one.”
Kesha has been teasing new music on social media more often lately, including posting a photo of herself in January holding a handwritten cardboard sign that reads, “New music coming soon.” She recently said that she had been writing and singing a lot of music again and let her fans know: “There is a day marked in my calendar when I am free to release music.”
However, she did not reveal exactly when her new songs will be released. She most recently released the albums “Gag Order” (2023) and “High Road” (2020).
