Herbert Grönemeyer presents new song “Kaltes Berlin” at the first Polyton Music Prize ceremony. A little ode to the capital, a kind of nostalgic look into the now.

The German musician Herbert Grönemeyer (67) won the first edition of the Polyton Music Prize in Berlin played his new song “Kaltes Berlin”.

He performed it together with the musician Suena, who accompanied him on the piano. It’s a little ode to the capital, a kind of nostalgic look into the now: “Maybe tomorrow we won’t be here anymore, in cold Berlin.”

The Polyton Music Prize from the Academy of Popular Music will be awarded for the first time this year. The winners are selected by the 50 founding members – Grönemeyer is one of them. Also artists from different genres of music such as RIN, Shirin David, Judith Holofernes and Schmyt. It is an award by music creators for music creators.
