Kontra K replaces Beatles at the top of the charts
The Fab Four’s soaring is over: rappers Kontra and Nico Santos conquer the top of the singles charts. When it comes to albums, Beatles re-releases do quite well.
Nevertheless, the top ten albums are firmly in the hands of the Beatles, thanks to two re-released cult albums. “The Beatles 1967-1970 (The Blue Album)” ranks fifth, “The Beatles 1962-1966 (The Red Album)” ranks seventh. Their compilation “The Beatles 1962-1970” made it to number six. This puts them just behind the Rolling Stones (“Hackney Diamonds”) in third place and “Bitches Need Rap” by Shirin David (fourth place).
As for the singles, “Prada” by cassö, Raye & D-Block Europe remains in second place, followed by Bennet’s “Voir sur ton chemin” and “Greedy” by Tate McRae.
In keeping with November, the approach of Christmas is also noticeable. The holiday classics from Wham! and Mariah Carey are moving forward, according to GfK. “Last Christmas” climbs from number 64 to 22, “All I Want For Christmas is You” from 68 to 25.
GfK determines its charts based on music sales, in stores as well as via streaming platforms or download portals.
