The tour was originally supposed to start in July, but the pop icon had to postpone her world tour at short notice due to a severe bacterial infection. From mid-October it’s time.

Madonna had to postpone her planned world tour at short notice in June due to a serious infection, and the US pop star is now announcing new concert dates.

The start of the worldwide “Celebration Tour” is planned for October 14 in London, as the organizer Live Nation (local time) announced on Madonna’s website.

After four sold-out concerts in London, the tour continues through Europe, including Belgium, Sweden, Spain, France and Germany, until the beginning of December. As originally planned, Madonna is scheduled to perform in Cologne on November 15th and 16th and in Berlin on November 28th and 29th.

Only after her tour of Europe will Madonna be on stage in North America. After the first US concerts in New York in mid-December, more than 50 concerts are planned in the USA, Canada and Mexico until the end of April.

Madonna suffered severe bacterial infection

The “Celebration Tour” was originally scheduled to start on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, followed by performances in the USA and the continuation in Europe in the fall. But because of a severe bacterial infection, the pop icon had to spend several days in intensive care in June and had to postpone her world tour at short notice.

As part of the concerts, the Grammy award winner wants to present her greatest hits of the past 40 years, from her debut album “Madonna” (1983) to her 2019 album “Madame X”. Her 65th birthday – on August 16 – was originally due in the middle of the tour.
