Deeply saddened by the death of his daughter Lola, his father died at the age of 49.
A year and a half after the murder of his daughter Lola, on October 14, 2022, the teenager’s father died suddenly in Fouquereuil (Pas-de-Calais), report our colleagues from The voice of the North. The circumstances of the death of this 49-year-old man have not been communicated. We knew he was very affected by the departure of his daughter, “I am in the process of surviving” he confided to the press when he came out of silence for the first time in October 2023.
Johan Daviet separated from his wife after Lola’s death. He confided that he had started drinking and had “fallen back into my demons”. And he couldn’t get the woman out of his mind who “didn’t just destroy a child’s life: she destroyed an entire family.”
The funeral of Johan Daviet will be celebrated on Thursday February 29. He will rest next to his daughter Lola in the Lillers cemetery.

In 2022, Lola’s gruesome murder had been widely publicized. The body of the 12-year-old girl was found in a trunk, near her building in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. His parents worked there as janitors.
After reporting the child’s disappearance, the father consulted the building’s surveillance cameras. He had seen his daughter enter with a woman around 3 p.m. on a Friday. The woman left the building around 5 p.m. carrying luggage, while Lola remained nowhere to be found. A homeless man found the teenager’s body in an opaque plastic trunk later that evening. She was tied up and had several wounds on her throat. The autopsy concluded that he died of asphyxiation.
The main suspect, the 24-year-old woman, is indicted for “murder of a minor under 15 accompanied by rape”, “torture or barbaric acts”, “rape of a minor with torture” and “barbaric acts “. She has been incarcerated, her trial has not yet taken place.
