Apparently the pressure on the suspect was too great. On Tuesday, the authorities launched a public manhunt with photos of the man known to the police for allegedly causing bodily harm. “Thanks to meticulous work, the investigators were able to identify the suspect very quickly. The public search is now used to determine the suspect’s whereabouts. Now it’s a matter of arresting him,” said senior public prosecutor Martin Botzenhardt.

As reported, Yevgeni A. is said to have stabbed a 31-year-old father at the Send fair in Münster on Saturday evening. According to previous investigations, there was a dispute before. The victim and the alleged perpetrator did not know each other beforehand. The 31-year-old died from a stab in the heart and blood loss, according to the public prosecutor after the autopsy of the body.

The folk festival was canceled after the fact. “After the fatal knife attack late on Saturday evening, respect for the victim prohibits the continuation,” said Mayor Markus Lewe (CDU).
