Municipal financial equalization: More money, old worries – Bavaria

The SPD in Augsburg would now like to have everything, and a lot of it. The city will receive 204.4 million euros in key allocations from the Free State of Bavaria – money that is urgently needed. That’s 19.4 million euros more than the finance officer had expected. The SPD is demanding that the city now “finally shape itself again” and that it invests in education, housing construction and social projects. “What emergencies do we want to wait for in order to use the money that the city has available? If the people of Augsburg can no longer find apartments and our children have to learn in dilapidated buildings, then the emergency is now,” says Group leader Florian Freund.
