Munich: Young actress demands a say in the theater – Munich

Thalia Schoeller, 18, loves her work at the theater – but because of her age, she is repeatedly patronized or not taken seriously. That’s why she wants to change how you deal with young people on and behind the stage.

Thalia Schoeller is furious when she writes her open letter. In April 2021 she will be working at the “Just a moment!” Theater festival for young audiences that takes place during school hours. Young audience is hardly represented, as well. So in her open letter she declares the powerful in the theater world to be yesterday’s and a hindrance, and demands a say for young people. She overwrites the text “30 years of children’s theater festival for adults” and leaves an e-mail address with the request: “Tell me who I have to sleep with in order to be allowed to stage, and I’ll do it. […] Let’s play along. That’s what you can still do. “
